Boys Varsity Tennis
Burris hosted Winchester on Wednesday night and came away with a victory. Strong performances by Thomas Zeller at 3-singles and Evan Jennerjahn and Jacob Nichols at 2-doubles drove the Owls to an early lead, despite losing quickly at 1-singles. Thomas found his first varsity victory at 6-2 6-3 after an excellent performance. Evan and Jacob were off the court quickly after cruising to a 6-0 6-3 score line. At 1-singles, Matthew Litt stepped up in the lineup and played some excellent games, but lost 1-6, 0-6. The match of the night was to be found at 1-doubles, where the team of Carson Adams and Drew Wheatley won the first set 6-4, then went to a tiebreak in the second set, eventually coming out on top 13-11.
The JV squad turned in another great performance winning 4 of the 6 matches played.
The Owls' broke their 5-game losing streak to go to 3-5 on the season, and they travel to Elwood on Tuesday.
