Game Summaries & Headlines.
After a long day at the courts, the Owls brought home the PAAC Trophy for the second year in a row. Having first place finishes at 1-singles, 3-singles, and 2-doubles, and a second place finish in 2-singles fueled the victory over Seton Catholic and University who entered the final round with a chance to win it all. University finished second by taking 1st place in 2-singles and 1-doubles. In the end, Burris only lost to University on the night.
Champion Isabelle Behrman completely dominated her field, dropping only 1 game all day (so that's 36-1 in games, but who's counting?).
Champion Megan Dragiciu was also dominant at 3-singles, dropping only 4 games in her 2 matches.
The 2-doubles team of Jade Jameson and Anna Beach mustered a strong performance to win their flight.
Catherine Dragiciu met strong competition, losing to University's 2-singles in the championship.
The 1-doubles team of Sarah Heffner and Hannah Flanagan were unfortunate to meet the strong University 1-doubles team early. University would go on to win the position.
Paige Lang served as the alternate and played two matches, winning both 8-0, 8-0.
As a consolation match for University at 1-singles, Sarah Heffner won 6-2, 6-1.
Congrats to the OWLS!
Next match is a JV match at home against Anderson Prep and then Senior Night on Tuesday against Shenandoah.
