Owls Girls Tennis Wins Last Match of the Season Against Mississenewa

The Owls played their sectional lineup against Mississenewa and came away with a tight win.  The Owls wrap up their season with a 12-2 record, with losses only to HSE and Delta.

At 1-singles, Isabelle Behrman continued her 10-match winning streak with a 6-4. 6-2 win.  Overall, Isabelle finishes the season with a 17-1 record.  One of those matches was at 1-doubles.  Overall, the Owls went 19-1 at the 1-singles position with both Catherine and Megan Draghiciu stepping up to win once each.

At 2-singles, Megan Draghiciu was just never quite able to get started tonight, losing 0-6, 1-6.  Megan finishes the season with a 11-3 record, 5-3 at singles and 6-0 at doubles.  The Owls went 12-7 at 2-singles.

At 3-singles, Catherine Draghiciu got a solid win in 3 sets, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.  Catherine matched her sister's 11-3 record on the season, though all those games came at singles.  The team was 14-6 at 3-singles overall.

The 1-doubles team of Rosie Bracken and Emily Adamowicz played well together, but lost their match 1-6, 3-6.  Rosie's varsity record was 5-10, all of those at doubles.  Emily had a stellar freshman season, finishing 12-7 on the season, 10-2 at singles and 2-5 at doubles.

At 2-doubles, the team of Morgan Wineinger and Corinne Meier continued their strong performance, winning 6-1, 6-2.  As a team, they wrap up the season with a 5-2 varsity record.

The Owls continued to struggle at doubles this year, finishing 9-10 in both doubles positions, but they did win the PAAC tournament at 2-doubles.

The JV team won 3 of the 7 matches.

There were a few notable JV performances this season.  Olivia Ma, primarily playing at the top JV singles spot, had a 9-5 JV record, and a 2-1 varsity record.  Morgan Wineinger and Corinne Meier both had 8 JV wins, tied for second in most wins on the JV team this year.

Next up for the Owls is sectionals, which kicks off against Delta on Thursday.
